Our Practice

A Practice About Relationships
At Barrow & Weigel, we believe that to truly serve our clients we must establish a trusting personal relationship with each individual person. Only through the building of confidence can we develop a broad strategy to address your needs. We take a comprehensive approach to family law by focusing on:

Divorce

Much of our practice is focusing on issues related to dissolution of marriage, including property division, custody and visitation, and support. Most divorce cases can be settled through mediation. When mediation breaks down, our skilled litigators ensure that you receive aggressive representation in the courtroom.

Child Custody

At Barrow & Weigel we represent both mothers and fathers in custody and visitation matters including legal custody, visitation and parenting schedules, and enforcement of custody agreements. We also work to defend the rights of fathers and grandparents in nontraditional custody cases.

Child Support

We represent clients on both sides of child support disputes. Our services include enforcement of child support orders, modification of child support orders, and establishing child support in custody disputes.

Spousal Support

Kentucky law allows for a spouse to receive support from a former spouse after the dissolution of a marriage. Formerly known as alimony, spousal support is often the most contentious aspect of a divorce. Our attorneys understand the evolving case law and will aggressively represent our client's right under Kentucky law.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence covers a wide range of abuse, including spousal abuse and child endangerment. our attorneys advise victims of their rights and defend those accused of domestic violence.

Confident Representation

In most cases, negotiation and settlement offer better solutions than trial. To that end, we take a determined approach to resolve legal issues through settlement conferences. However, when cases must be tried, our clients can be confident we will provide strong, aggressive representation in the courtroom.
